Winter Training

31 January 2010. With 12 weeks to go to the start of my odyssey nothing stops the training. Rain, snow, dark nights are no excuse. At the moment I'm cycling at least 10 hours per week. 4 to 6 hours on the turbo trainer in the loft if the weather is bad. Currently up to 70mile rides on Sundays. By the way it's a linguaphone french course on the iPod.

Ferries are now booked. We will be starting to book hotels shortly. Sponsors have been generous so far. Please visit the Sponsors page for details.

A big thank you to everyone who has already donated on-line on the just giving site. I appreciate your confidence in me. Also many thanks to the people who have been handing around the sponsor forms and encouraging folks to pledge their cash.

The winter nights just fly by

Final Preparation

29 April 2010. Two days left before I'm in France and starting the Tour. This week I have been busy getting the bike serviced and packing everything I will need.

Today I had my legs waxed. If you think this is for increased aerodynamic efficiency I will not put you right. Not an all together unpleasant experience mainly thanks to the lovely ladies at The Works in Tadcaster, particularly Debbie. I can recommend it to any of you gentlemen who might be curious. Please visit their site for details. Here are the pictures for your enjoyment.

Donations continue to come in at a steady rate. At the time of writing donations and pledges stand at around £3,000 for both the charities, about half the target. Thanks again to everyone who has given so far. It's not too late for anyone who hasnt yet donated. Visit www.justgiving.com or just send me an e-mail pledging some money and I'll collect it later.

Not sure about this.....too late now
